Some Assembly Games

A dumb premise that turns real.

We're a small studio making one game at a time. Right now that's Stick Picker Simulator: a top-down survival game about feeding a fire that won't stay lit.

Stick Picker Simulator

You push a wheelbarrow, pick up sticks, and feed a fire that's always running low. Under the dumb premise it's a roguelike: head out into the cold for loot, get a little stronger each run, and start over when you die.

The fire is always dying

It runs down whether you're watching or not, and almost everything you do comes back to keeping it lit.

Haul sticks, beat the clock

You push a wheelbarrow out into the cold and race back before the fire goes out. What looks relaxing gets tense fast.

Loot worth chasing

Relics to find, an unlock tree you build up across runs, and rare drops out in the Frostwood and Ashlands. The grind, without the combat.

Movement that flows

You sweep around in long trails picking things up, and finding a clean route is its own reward.

Light, not weapons

There's nothing to fight. The cold and the dark are the threat, and light is the only thing that pushes them back.

Easy to follow on stream

The whole state of a run reads at a glance in the firelight, so chat always knows what's about to go wrong.

How a session tends to go

01

Minute 0

“ok, I pick up sticks.”

02

Minute 5

“oh no, the fire.”

03

Run 2+

“wait, what's out there?”

04

Hour 10+

“I'm building something.”

The Studio

We keep it to one idea.

We're a small team that would rather do one thing well than ten things halfway. Each game starts from a single idea and lets the rest grow out of it. Mostly we're chasing the moment a goofy concept turns out to be actually good.
